Questions before you sign
- Who owns the assessment?
- Which disciplines took part?
- How did the findings reach management?
The requirement, in our words
Assign and make known the responsibilities for the impact assessment, including setting the scope, securing resources, providing the documented information, involving the right disciplines and approving the result.
What it means for human oversight
The assessment should not be owned by engineering alone. The overseer and the affected-party representative need a route into the assessment, or the oversight design will miss the harm.
How to evidence it
Attach the artefacts above to the Assessment responsibilities row with the system name, the owner and the date. The first one is the anchor: The assignment of assessment responsibilities. The OH-33 file is complete when the named person can produce that artefact and explain the decision it records, without asking someone else where it is.
The reviewer will sample one live decision and ask for Evidence of multidisciplinary participation. If that artefact for OH-33 cannot be produced, the row is a gap, whatever the policy says.
OH-33 carries 3 evidence items and 2 common gaps. For assessment responsibilities, the auditor looks for a named person with an authority, not a committee title, so the row needs both the name and the sentence that grants the power. The OH-33 statement above is ours, written from ISO/IEC 42005:2025, 5.6, not a reproduction of the licensed text.
Common gaps
- Assessment owned by engineering alone
- No route from findings to management review
