Answer
What is human oversight under EU AI Act Article 14?
Article 14 requires high-risk AI systems to be designed so that natural persons can effectively oversee them during use. The oversight must let the person understand the system's capacities and limits, monitor it, resist automation bias, interpret the output, decide not to use it, override or reverse it, and intervene or stop the system.
In one paragraph
Article 14 requires high-risk AI systems to be designed so that natural persons can effectively oversee them during use. The oversight must let the person understand the system's capacities and limits, monitor it, resist automation bias, interpret the output, decide not to use it, override or reverse it, and intervene or stop the system.
Who carries it
The provider must design for it. The deployer must assign it to competent people under Article 26.
What evidence looks like
A named overseer, training, the information the overseer receives, a tested override, a stop mechanism and logs.
How 42105 fits
The FDIS is guidance, so it can inform the design. It does not replace Article 14 or create a presumption of conformity.
